Prana is a Sanskrit word literally meaning "life-force" the invisible bio-energy or vital energy that keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. The Japanese call this subtle energy Ki, the Chinese Chi, while the Greeks refer to it as Pneuma. In Polynesian it is known as Mana, and in Hebrew, Ruah - meaning "Breath of Life", pneuma by the Greeks, and mana by the Polynesians.

Pranic Healing is a form of energy healing which makes use of Prana, or vital energy, in the treatment of a wide variety of ailments. As an art and science, Pranic Healing was widely practiced in ancient civilizations in China, Egypt and India. In Pranic Healing, cure is effected by simply removing diseased energies from the patient's invisible energy body and by transferring fresh vital energy (Prana) to the affected areas with the use of the hands. Using a scientific "no-touch" methodology, Pranic Healing can prevent, alleviate, and heal a whole spectrum of physical, emotional, and mental ailments. Because the methods are simple and fairly easy to understand, anyone can learn and apply pranic healing in no time at all.

Pranic Healing synthesizes the principles of energy healing from all over the world and has become one of the most advanced and complete method of working with energy in the body. Based on clinical research and decades of study, this ancient knowledge which was rediscovered by Master Choa Kok Sui, a professional engineer from the Philippines, has been updated and documented in several of his books. The healer projects "prana" into the patient thereby healing him.

There are 3 major sources of prana. From the sun comes the solar prana that invigorates and that can be absorbed by sunbathing and drinking sun-exposed water, but too much solar prana can harm because it is so potent.
From the air comes ozone prana, most effective when acquired through deep slow rhythmic breathing and through the energy centers (chakras) of the inner and outer aura, which is our etheral body.

From the earth comes the ground prana that enters through the souls of our feet. Trees and plants absorb prana from sun, air, and ground and exude a lot of excess prana. Tired or sick people benefit much by lying down under trees.

A Pranic healer uses his/her hands to scan the patient. The patient's body is not touched. The healer is looking for a change in body temperature. Once that area has been established, in a sweeping motion, the healer will try to move the energies surrounding that area until the temperature is equalized.

Pranic Healing is not intended to replace modern medicine. Rather, this ancient healing methodology is intended to complement conventional medical practices as well as other alternative healing methods.

What Ailments can be Treated by Pranic Healing?

1. Simple physical disorders like headaches, toothaches, coughs, sore throats, fever, stomach aches, diarrhoea, dysmenorrhoea, muscle pain, sprains, and minor burns;
   
   
2. Severe ailments, tuberculosis, hypertension, heart problems, hepatitis, myomas, cysts, migraine, arthritis, and epilepsy; and
   
   
3. Emotional and mental disorders like stress, tension, anxiety, depression, phobias, manias, paranoia, schizophrenia, and other related ailments.
